С 2-6 января 2019 года, для старшеклассников в Духовно — просветительском центре Петропавловской и Камчатской епархии состоялись лекции и беседы с мастер-классами. Свыше 100 камчатских школьников узнали традиции празднования Рождества Христова на Руси. Ребята стали настоящими героями Священной истории, сыграв в «Рождественский Вертеп»!
На Руси святочное время проходило шумно и весело. Грустить и отсиживаться дома в Святые дни считалось грехом. Самым популярным занятием в сие время были колядки, то есть народное прославление Христова Рождества. Радостные ватаги ребятишек перекатывались от дома к дому, воспевая Вифлеемского Богомладенца и получая за это от хозяев домов вознаграждение в виде мелких монет и различных сладостей. Взрослые устраивали весёлые гонки на санях с запряженными в них лошадьми. Повсюду можно было видеть стремительное перемещение празднично одетого люда, шедшего на народные гуляния или в гости. Шумная мелюзга лепила снежных баб, каталась с гор на санках, устраивала весёлые снежные побоища с ледяными крепостями. Повсеместно в Российской империи царила атмосфера благочестивого и обильного празднества.
Камчатские школьники не только смогли почувствовать себя волхвами, прикоснувшись к живым традициям Светлого Христова Рождества, но и стали настоящими кулинарными художниками. Мастер-класс по росписи имбирных пряников не оставил равнодушными ни кого! Каждый ушел с настоящим рождественским подарком для своих близких изготовленным своими руками!
