14 января — день памяти Василия Великого (ок. 330—379) архиепископа Кесарии Каппадокийской, церковного писателя и богослова, одного из трёх каппадокийских Отцов Церкви, наряду с Григорием Нисским и Григорием Богословом. Ему приписываются изобретение иконостаса и составление литургии Василия Великого. Автор пятой и шестой молитв утреннего правила (обязательного для исполнения православными христианами), многочисленных проповедей и писем (сохранилось не менее трёхсот). Убеждённого поборника киновии. В храме при Духовно–просветительском в этот знаменательный день свой 88–летний юбилей отпраздновал ветеран — Василий Алексеевич Давиденко.
Василий Алексеевич, или как его называют в нашем храме, наш дедушка, является прихожанином с основания прихода в честь Св. Николая Чудотворца. Он не пропускает ни одного Богослужения, всегда в прекрасном расположение духа. Активно участвует в жизни прихода, проводит военно-патриотические беседы с учениками воскресной школы и каждый раз вручает малышам сладости и печенье. Судьба Василия Алексеевича была нелегкой. Василий Алексеевич Давыденко встретил войну в Ростовской области, ставшей местом ожесточенных сражений. День, когда немцы вошли в родное село, навсегда врезался в память Василия Алексеевича. «Выглядели они точно так, как показывают в кино: рослые, рыжие, с закатанными рукавами и автоматами в руках. Всех жителей выгнали из домов на улицу. Двух человек расстреляли», – вспоминает ветеран.
После изгнания немцев из Ростовской области Василий Давыденко с тринадцатилетнего возраста трудился в совхозе, где катастрофически не хватало рабочих рук.
Василий Давыденко – участник трудового фронта, ковавший Победу над фашизмом в тылу. Великий полководец Георгий Жуков подчеркивал: «Тыл – это половина Победы, тыл – даже больше».
Ветеран награжден медалями и орденами.
Весь приход от всей души поздравляет Василия Алексеевича с юбилеем, желаем крепости духа, здоровья и долгоденствия на Многая Лета!!
