9 декабря в Духовно-просветительском центре состоялось торжественное открытие XXVIII Международных рождественских образовательных чтений «Великая Победа: наследие и наследники».
Архиепископ Петропавловский и Камчатский Феодор отслужил молебен перед началом доброго дела в храме Святителя Николая Чудотворца при ДПЦ.
На сцену зала были приглашены почетные члены организационного комитета: Председатель Оргкомитета Архиепископ Петропавловский и Камчатский Феодор;
Министр образования Камчатского края Короткова Александра Юрьевна;
Депутат Законодательного Собрания Камчатского края, Заместитель председателя постоянного комитета по бюджетной, налоговой, экономической политике, вопросам собственности и предпринимательства Агеев Владимир Александрович;
Заместитель командующего войск и сил на северо-востоке России по работе с личным составом Кореневич Сергей Аркадьевич; Представитель подводных сил Тихоокеанского флота на Камчатке Ткачук Алексей Петрович; Уполномоченный по правам ребёнка в Камчатском крае Койрович Инесса Эриковна.
С докладами выступили специальные гости регионального этапа XXVIII Международных Рождественских Образовательных Чтений:
доктор философских наук, профессору кафедры философии, религии и религиоведения философского факультета МГУ имени М.В. Ломоносова и профессору кафедры Библеистики Московской Духовной Академии Валерий Яковлевич Саврей;
Член Совета Общероссийского движения «За жизнь», исполнительный директор реализуемой движением благотворительной программы «Спаси жизнь», Руководитель кризисного центра «Дом для мамы» г.Москва и противоабортного направления деятельности Отдела по церковной благотворительности и социальному служению РПЦ Московской патриархии Мария Михайловна Колесникова (Студеникина);
Руководитель православного медико-просветительского центра «Жизнь», председатель Общероссийской общественной организации «За жизнь и защиту семейный ценностей» г.Москва протоиерей Максим Обухов;
Заместитель командующего группировки войск и сил на Северо-Востоке России по политической и воспитательной работе Сергей Аркадьевич Кореневич.
Творческий подарок присутствующим подарили дуэт «Камчатский сувенир» и дуэт «Грани».
В заключении торжественного открытия XXVIII Международных рождественских образовательных чтений весь зал спел легендарную «Катюшу».
