В целях сохранения семейных ценностей и духовно-нравственного воспитания детей и молодёжи Указом Президента Российской Федерации в 2022 году установлен государственный праздник — День семьи, любви и верности, который отмечается ежегодно 8 июля.
По окончании Литургии 10 июля Архиепископ Феодор возглавил молебен святым князьям Петру и Февронии, затем все собравшиеся прошли Крестным ходом к часовне, освященной в честь святых покровителей брака и семьи.
На соборной площади Глава Петропавловской и Камчатской епархии обратился к прихожанам со словами проповеди:
«Сердечно всех Вас поздравляю с воскресным днем, с Малой Пасхой! В этот день мы прославляем целый сонм святых угодников Божиих. Мы вместе с Вами совершаем Крестный ход и соборную молитву перед часовней, которая освящена в честь покровителей семьи, благоверных князей Муромских Петра и Февронии. Замечательно, что их память стала церковно-государственным праздником, название которого раскрывает суть семейной жизни: День семьи, любви и верности. Без любви и верности никогда не может устоять семья, поэтому Петр и Феврония Муромские семейной жизнью запечатлели, что семейная жизнь — это не наслаждение друг другом, это великое крест ношение, создание Малой Церкви, в которой создаются условия для спасения всех домочадцев.
Так пусть же благословение Божие, молитвами праведных Петра и Февронии, пребывает над всеми, кто уже давно благо честно живет семейной жизнью, над теми, кто только создал эту Малую Церковь, и пусть укреплением семьи станет взаимное терпение и перенесение общих испытаний, которые посылаются Богом. В этом закаляется и укрепляется Малая Церковь.
