15 февраля 2020 года, в праздник Сретения Господа Бога и Спаса нашего Иисуса Христа, архиепископ Петропавловский и Камчатский Феодор совершил Божественную Литургию в храме Николая Чудотворца при Духовно-просветительском центре «Сретение».
Его Высокопреосвященству сослужили: протоиерей Виктор Музыкант, руководитель социального отдела епархии; иерей Дионисий Стефанов, настоятель храма Николая Чудотворца; иерей Александр Овчинников, гость из Московской епархии.
За богослужением пел хор Духовно-просветительского центра и Архиерейский детский хор под управлением инокини Ольги (Вовк).
Отец Дионисий огласил обращение Святейшего Патриарха Кирилла по случаю празднования Дня православной молодежи.
По окончании Литургии было совершено славление празднику Сретения Господня.
Затем Высокопреосвященнейший Владыка обратился к участникам богослужения с архипастырским словом.
В своем слове Владыка сказал о пророческих словах Симеона Богоприимца к Божией Матери: «Тебе же самой оружие пройдет душу, дабы открылись помышления сердец многих». Вследствие страданий для Девы Марии стали открыты сердца всех людей. И в этом мы находим догматическое обоснование почитания Матери Божией как ходатаицы, молитвенницы рода христианского, Она видит всю нашу жизнь, всю нашу духовную жизнь. Когда мы молимся, Пресвятая Богородица, по благодати Божией, помогает нам. Поэтому мы Ее называем Матерь Божия и Матерь всех верующих людей.».
Владыка Феодор сердечно поздравил и поблагодарил настоятеля храма иерея Дионисия Стефанова, руководителя Духовно-просветительского центра «Сретение» Елену Ивановну Ильину, всех, кто трудится под сводами центра в деле миссионерства и просвещения.
Также Его Высокопреосвященство поблагодарил регента и певчих, участников Архиерейского детского хора.
После Божественной Литургии для всех прихожан, учащихся школ г. Петропавловска-Камчатского, а также старшего поколения состоялось просветительское мероприятие по истории становления христианской православной культуры «Душа и песня».
Чем же для православных является христианский праздник Сретение Господне? Сретение – это встреча двух мировых религий: Старого и Нового Завета. Как это произошло и где? Об этом рассказали ведущие праздника. Каждый современный, разносторонне развитый и образованный человек должен знать историю возникновения христианских праздников, отмечаемых на Руси. Это жизнь нашего народа, его культура, традиции, которые передаются из поколения к поколению. Православный праздник Сретение – это и есть встреча прошлого и будущего, встреча старого и нового, встреча с Богом, которая у каждого своя.
И, конечно, свою душу и песни подарили зрителям замечательные коллективы: ретро-ансамбль «Обертон», фолк-артель «Царь-град» и гость из Московской области иерей Александр Овчинников.
